When you work in an office, that sedentary lifestyle can lead to your metabolism slowing down which can normal cause weight gain. Not to mention all the goodies that are commonly in an office.

While it is not easy, there are things you can do to not only keep the weight off, but to actually help you to lose weight, even if your job isn’t active.

1. Drink More Water

Drinking water is an excellent way to lose weight. You need to try to get 8 glasses a day and having a water bottle on your desk is an easy way to.

All of these outcomes will help you to lose weight while sitting in an office job.

A great way to do this is by having a 1 liter Camelback Water bottle on your desk. Fill it 2 or 3 times a day, you are good to go!

2. Packing your Lunch

While eating out at a restaurant or your company’s cafeteria may be easier and taste better, but packing your lunch allows you to keep from over-eating and stops you from getting all those excess calories associated with eating out.

Losing weight is not always easy, but if you plan ahead with your lunches, you can definitely keep your calories in check.

3. Walk Whenever you Can

While your office job may require you to sit most of the day, there’s still plenty of opportunities to walk and burn off some calories and increase that metabolism.

Here are a few ways to do this. Instead of the elevator, take the stairs everyday. When you take your bathroom breaks, take the long route or one extra lap around the office. Even during your lunch break or other break, walk around instead of sitting. Also these little walk breaks will add up to some large amount of steps and some nice calories burned!walk whenever you can

To be more accurate and know for sure how much you walked, you need to get a Fitbit. These devices will not only keep track of your steps but also give you plenty of other vital stats about your activity to help you better gauge your progress!

5. Eat Smaller meals more frequently, along with Protein shakes

Eating more frequently in the office will keep your metabolism going all day. While it can take up time making 5 or 6 meals a day, drinking protein shakes are a great meal replacement. Also the protein helps you build muscle which you need to burning fat.

eat smaller mealsYou can make one of these in literally under 2 minutes and drink it in no time also. All I do is take one scoop of my favorite, great tasting protein powder, throw it into my shaker, give it one quick shake and it’s ready to drink.

I use the Blender Bottle 22 ounce Pro Stack System Shaker.   It has a leak proof twist top with a blender ball. Ever since I used that, I stopped using my blender!

I like to mix in some Muscle Pharm Combat Whey Protein Powder in with some water in my shaker.  The chocolate flavor is the best one.

6. Mini Exercise Bike under your desk

Sometimes you just get too busy at work to get up and take a short walk to burn those calories. However, using a small exercise bike that fits under your desk is a great option to burn calories without any work stoppage.

The best kind I found is the Desk Cycle Exercise Bike.  They’re easy to store and you can get a good workout all while working!

7. Pack Healthy Snacks

If you don’t fuel your body every 2 to 3 hours, you can get extremely hungry waiting for your lunch or dinner. That could just lead to over eating and taking in too many calories.eat more healthy snacks

So a great option is to pack some healthy snacks for yourself before work and then you can pull them out throughout the day when you are hungry.  You can easily buy food in bulk and create baggies of snacks to bring in.

Another option is to buy a snack pack.  The Non GMO Healthy Snack 28 Pack offers a great assortment of healthy snacks.  You can buy this one pack and be good for a month!
